This allows the device to filter speech from background noise with impressive precision, performing 7.7 billion operations per second. Phonak reports a 10 dB improvement in signal-to-noise ratio and a 36.7% boost in speech understanding in noisy environments compared to competitors.

The Phonak Sphere Infinio 90 features an upgraded version of AutoSense, now in its sixth iteration. This adaptive program continuously analyzes the surrounding environment and makes real-time adjustments to optimize sound clarity and comfort. Although this feature isn’t yet activated, it will likely become available through a free firmware update once the infrastructure is in place.

This includes compatibility with Phonak’s exclusive ActiveVent receivers, which feature a built-in piston that dynamically adjusts based on the listening environment. The vent can open or close as needed, directing sound naturally through the ear canal or through the hearing aids for optimal clarity.
This adaptability significantly enhances performance. In quiet environments, the vent opens to allow natural sound, maintaining a more immersive and comfortable listening experience. In noisy settings, the vent closes, ensuring that only processed, background-noise-reduced audio comes through the hearing aids. The same principle applies to music streaming—when streaming from a phone, the ActiveVent closes to block external sounds, providing fuller, richer audio.
By automatically switching between open and closed modes, the Sphere Infinio ensures users enjoy both natural sound and precise noise management, tailored to different situations and preferences.
